FAQ
1. What is Life Coaching?
Life coaching is inspiring, motivational positive and action driven. It helps you look at where you are now and where you’d like to be, and helps you bridge the gap. By raising your awareness and encouraging you to take responsibility for your life, life coaching can help you discover what inspires you, rise to your own particular challenge and then go further than you ever thought possible.
Too many of us are surrounded by people who undermine our confidence and make us think that we can’t do it – or that our dreams are unrealistic. As your coach I will help you uncover what you want from life and support you 110 per cent till you have achieved it.
You’ll be challenged to go for it and you’ll be given strategies, tips and tools to help you achieve your goals faster. You’ll get SO much more done and achieve so much more with coaching. Plus, being accountable to your coach is a great antidote to procrastination!
2. How will Coaching Benefit Me?
Coaching can help you to:
- Make great decisions
- Get clear about what makes YOU happy
- Set bold, exciting goals
- Achieve more than you thought possible
- Create a balanced, happy and successful life
- Build your confidence
- Make more time for you
- Challenge your limiting beliefs
- Learn effective strategies for success
- Be more productive and use your time better
- And much more...
3. Couldn't My Friends or Family Help Me?
Yes, they could. But the big difference is that your family and friends may (consciously or unconsciously) have a vested interest in your staying where you are and NOT making the changes you desire. They might be afraid you'll get hurt if you reach for the stars and fail. They’re closely involved in your life whereas your coach can stand back and be 100 per cent objective
A coach has only one vested interest ~ your success. I am professionally trained to ask you the tough questions that help you to make the best decisions and choose the best path for yourself. It’s rare in life to find someone who really listens to you and has only your best interests at heart with strategies available to help you and whose feelings you cannot hurt.
4. Is Coaching the same as Counselling?
Traditionally counselling will look to your past and how it is
affecting the present, whilst coaching looks to the future, concentrating on what you want to achieve and taking effective action to get you there.
5. Does Coaching over the Phone Really Work?
I work with alot of clients over the phone and am fully qualified to use EFT over the phone as well. This method is extremely focused and many clients find it easier to be open and frank from the privacy of their home or office plus you can speak to me from anywhere in the world. It also means valuable time isn’t wasted travelling to sessions.
I do of course offer one to one sessions in my private office as some clients will always have a strong preference for this method.
6. How do I Get Started? How many sessions do I need ?
The first step is to book a FREE 15 mins no obligation Coaching Consultation where you can explain what kind of support you need and if you decide that coaching is the right thing for you, you’ll receive your welcome letter with the terms agreed, we’ll book your first call or session and you can get started! It’s as simple as that.
You’re not tied to a minimum number of coaching sessions - we’ll take it one month at a time. You choose how many coaching sessions you want each month or if you want to take advantage of some of the more cost effective packages available.
Some clients have enjoyed significant results in just one session,
however it is usual to have a series of sessions for maximum results. Other clients benefit from a more longer term approach, with less
frequent sessions spread over several months.
During the initial
telephone consultation we will establish a realistic time frame for your
individual requirements.
7. Why are sessions so expensive?
If you are thinking sessions are expensive you are already living with a limiting frame of mind by focusing on the lack. This in turn can put blocks on living a truly abundant life.
Questions to ask yourself :
What do I deserve ?
How much is my freedom and happiness worth ?
Am I worth investing in ?
Just like a personal trainer can train your body to reach its full potential, think of a coach as as your personal mind and spirit trainer. This is an investment for your future. A small investment when you think of how you can be emotionally and financially free for the rest of your life.
8. I live abroad can I still have telephone coaching ?
Absolutely. I work over the telephone with great success as well as through Skype. As long as you provide me with a valid landline I should be able to phone you at no extra cost for the session. This FREE service is applicable to most countries. Please check with me at the time of booking.
9. Are you professionally trained?
Yes. I trained with the
largest coaching training school in the world – The Coaching Academy.
I am a certified Practitioner of Neuro
Linguistic Programming (NLP). I am a certified EFT Practitioner
(EFTCert-I), having gained my qualification under the training
program of Gary Craig, the founder of EFT.
I am also a member of EFT practitioners and Self Growth and have just released the first book and CD in the Cuddle my Soul Series.
10. How long does each session last?
Each each session typically lasts 1 hour and I always say allow 15 mins either side.
11. Are weekend and evening sessions available?
Yes, weekend and evening appointments are available for your convenience.
12. Is the service confidential ?
Absolutely.Personal information or business information
supplied by clients in coaching sessions will be treated as
strictly confidential. It will not be disclosed to a third party without the
client's prior permission, save where required by law or where action
might be necessary to prevent harm to the client or someone else.
13. What is EFT ?
Gary Craig, EFT founder, answers the question, "What is EFT and how does
EFT work?" like this:
“Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an emotional, needle free
version of acupuncture that is based on new discoveries regarding the
connection between your body's subtle energies, your emotions, and
your health.”
Gary Craig
The way it works is that instead of using needles on the meridian (energy)
points on your body you use your fingertips to tap on them. The EFT tapping
points are on the face, torso and hands.
When you have a painful memory this can lead to an energy disturbance in
the body, which then leads to negative emotional response. Conventional
talk therapy focuses on the memory. EFT focuses both on the memory
and on the energy disturbance in order to release it. By releasing
negative energy over a painful situation we can heal the trauma / phobia and start living life to our full potential.
14. What is NLP ?
Neuro Linguistic Programming began in the 1970s when John Grinder and
Richard Bandler, two men fascinated with human excellence decided to
observe and model behavioural patterns of selected geniuses.
Modeling basically is the process of finding and replicating the language
structure and behavioural patterns of a person who is excellent at a given
activity so that someone who is mediocre at the same activity could replicate
the successful strategy and achieve excellent results. The result was a series
of very powerful NLP exercises which have an amazing track record for
creating fast and efficient change in individuals and groups.
We can use some of these exercises during our sessions together which can often speed up results dramatically.
